ABOUT ME

I was born in Hanover with Ukrainian & German-Russian roots and was enthusiastic about art, painting and beautiful things from an early age.

This devotion became my profession, which is why I studied fashion design. With notable stays abroad like Paris at the Ecole superieure Duperré, Vienna or London at "Vivienne Westwood".
After my studies, I devoted my focus to building a textile factory in Southeast Asia in East Timor, Dili. Here I managed the training and task distribution of the local seamstresses and designed two collections for local labels. During this time, sourcing of fabrics was also one of the main areas of focus, from where I gained an extensive practical knowledge for and around the finest fabric selection, which can be seen in every single piece of Sleepy Phoenix.
After moving to Berlin, I worked as a tailor and pattern maker for the luxury fashion label "Rianna and Nina".

After a few years in the fashion industry, I realized that the turnover and handling of human and material resources no longer fit my ethical and moral understanding of modern fashion and luxury. This is how the concept for SleepyPhoenix was born. A sustainable resource-saving luxury brand for headboards and pillows, for lovers or new discoverers.

Through years of expertise in the luxury segment combined with skilled craftsmanship and a love for vintage and detailed work, each piece shines in individual splendor and is a highlight in any interior.
